On Thursday, the US Coast Guard announced that all five members of the Titan Five submersible crew had passed away. The submersible experienced a “catastrophic implosion,” or caved inward as a result of extreme pressure from the water. An explosion, on the other hand, would have caused the submersible to disintegrate within.
The submersible probably collapsed under the tremendous weight as it descended farther beneath the surface of the ocean due to the extremely elevated water pressure.
