The Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Scheme 2022–23 has received an overwhelmingly positive response from students across Pakistan, as 652,155 students from 143 universities have submitted applications to receive a personal laptop.
Up to 100,000 computers will be given to students after the successful completion of the PM’s Youth Laptop Scheme Phases I and II, wherein approximately one million laptops were delivered, giving students the tools they need to succeed in their academic endeavours.
Due to the extensive review and evaluation procedure that goes into choosing the recipients of the award, impartiality and openness are guaranteed. The selected focal persons at each student’s particular university/HEI first review and verify the applications that have been submitted. HEC creates the merit lists using the online system following first screening. There will be an online version of the merit list.
Aiming to equip students with cutting-edge technical tools so they can improve their educational experiences and discover new areas of knowledge, the Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme 2022–23 was created. The programme aims to close the digital divide and give kids the tools they need to participate fully in the digital age by providing them with laptops.
The chosen students will receive computers based on their merit, making sure that those who have displayed great academic success and perseverance are recognised. With the help of these computers, they will be able to access a wealth of educational resources, carry out research, and take advantage of online learning possibilities, supporting their academic endeavours.
The government wants to empower students by providing them with the tools they need to flourish in the digital age through laptop distribution.
