Six months pregnant Gurria and her distraught mother looked for an abortion clinic nearby.
Gurria underwent the treatment, but it was plagued by issues that resulted in severe blood loss. Gurria’s mother rushed her to Lady Reading Hospital in an effort to preserve her daughter. Tragically, Gurria passed away from her wounds on May 26—47 hours later.
Dr. Muhammad Umar, the superintendent of police, wasted little time in capturing a 25-year-old guy who had admitted to the rape. Gurria’s mother was first reluctant to reveal information about the abortion clinic, but she eventually did, and it helped lead to the arrest of individuals responsible for the illegal enterprise. The trial’s verdict is still up in the air.

Senior attorney Khushnood Zakirullah claims that in cases when the mother’s ability to give birth poses a serious risk, there may be measures for allowing abortions under stringent guidelines. Numerous victims go without justice since convictions are unusual. The province has had hundreds of recorded rape instances in the past year, most of which involved youngsters.
