Tuesday marked the official opening of the burns and plastic surgery department at Mufti Mehmood Hospital in Dera Ismail Khan (DI Khan) by Minister of State for Poverty Alleviation and Social Security Faisal Karim Kundi.
Ahmad Karim Kundi, a former member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA), and notable representatives from the Gomal Medical College, including Drs. Nasim Saba Mehsud, Umar Shah Astrana, and Muhammad Wasim, attended the ceremony. In addition, on-call medical professionals, paramedics, and respected members of the neighbourhood were present.
In his speech, Minister Kundi reaffirmed his commitment to providing all hospitals in DI Khan with cutting-edge equipment. This proactive strategy removes the need for patients to make taxing trips to other cities like Islamabad, Multan, or Lahore for medical care.
Kundi praised the medical professionals’ efforts and independent decisions that led to the opening of the burns and plastic surgery departments at Mufti Mehmood Hospital. This accomplishment represents a big advance in improving healthcare accessibility and services in the area.
