Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunications Syed Aminul Haq announced a deal with Google for 45,000 scholarships, which will rise to 450,000 next year.
At least 40% of Google’s scholarships will go to women, according to the state news agency.
The Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) sponsored the Startups for Industries and IT Exports conference on Friday, and he delivered a speech there.
The Minister asserts that Google Strong first promised only 15,000 scholarships last year, but that after discussions, the figure was raised to 20,000.

Speaking at the event, Senior Vice President of KATI Nighat Awan called for the removal of taxes on equipment and supplies used in the IT sector so that it can grow even further in the nation.
